Congratulations to our 6th grade Viking of the Week, Shemila Richey!

Mrs. Birmelin nominated Shemila for taking care of herself.  Here’s what Mrs. Birmelin had to say about Shemila in her nomination:

Ms. Shemila’s performance on her Chapter 5 Math Test Thursday stood out as a highlight of the week. Her 94% illustrates her solid understanding of using models to multiply mixed numbers, multiplying decimals, and finding the area of various figures. Shemila’s effort this week in both math and math lab pays HUGE dividends (and dividends lead us to Chapter 6…. division of fractions). Great job, Shemila!

Congratulations to our 6th grade Viking of the Week, Ellie Roberts!

Mrs. McCotter nominated Ellie for taking care of others.  Here’s what Mrs. McCotter had to say about Ellie in her nomination: “Ellie has been supporting an 8th grade student in READ 180 for this entire semester. She has shown incredible maturity, responsibility, kindness and initiative towards supporting this ASD student. She has redirected him using visuals that support positive behaviors in class as well as a reward system. Ellie worked with me in developing both systems. Ellie also helps read the directions and questions for his assessments and redirects him to complete his work, while maintaining his dignity. She has been a wonderful LINK.” Way to go, Ellie!
